3.3 Understanding Atmospheric & Gas Pressure

Gas Pressure:
Force per unit area exerted by the collision of gas molecules & the wall of the container

Atm Pressure:
Weight of the air per area of the earth
Higher altitude, smaller atmospheric pressure. Why? Higher, thinner air...Less weight

Instrument to measure Patm:
- Mercury Barometer
- Fortin Barometer
- Aneroid Barometer

Instrument to measure Pgas:
- U-tube Manometer
- Bourdon Gauge

Unit for Presssure:
a) pascal
b) N/m2
c) atm
d) cmHg
e) m water

Ketam Pagi (Week 3)

To my surprised, this morning Timothy (5Amanah) already waited for me at Physics Lab...This is the first time a student wait for me...Normally, i waited for them :)...Good to see u early Timothy :)

Kehadiran: Timothy, Faiz, Amos, Baizura, Adima, Farahany, Melissa, Fifi & Diandra (will upload picture...line problem...)

Today we discuss one question from Paper 3, Section A, Question No 2 format...
-Given a graph, u need to determine the relationship between the axis, calculate gradient, precaution...

Ketam Pagi (Week 2)

Today's Ketam Pagi is better than Tuesday...

Alamak! I forgot to take the attendance, wait let me visualize :)
Ashley, Shennan, Melissa, Dyg Farahanny, Fifi, Diandra, Syafiq, Shaheerah, Amos, Amelia, Bianca, Amos, Joey....did i miss anybody else? Aha, Simon... Next time i better take picture!

Discussion on Question no. 1, Section A, Paper 3 (MRSM 2008)...
Explain how to get MV & RV from the 1st sentence...

MV & RV could be determine by looking for the keyword "relationship" in the 1st sentence.
MV can easily detected by the keyword "repeated" in the next paragraph. Once you know the MV, then the other one will be RV.

FV can be determine by 2 methodes:
1. Look for any statement saying that .....is constant/fix/the same.
That physical quantity will be your FV

2. If above is not given, then relate the MV and RV with any formula in Physics...
    Example, if
                           MV = depth, h
                           RV = pressure, P
the formula that relate this 2 variable is

Pressure in liquid formula, P = (depth)(density)(gravitational field strength)

so FV = density and gravitational field strength

That's all for today :)
Happy to see changes in 5 Amanah & 5 Setia...

p.s. Whenever a student greet a teacher, she/he will be bless by the teacher....maksudnya cg doakan that particular student...the more a student get doa from the teacher, the higher the chances for he to get good marks :)

4.3 Transistor (as an automatic switch)

"During night time, the resistance of the LDR increases
the potential difference across LDR increases
hence the potential difference across R1 decreases
there will be no Ib,
 Ic will not exist...
the bulb will not light up..." explain Audrey :)

My dear students,

For a transistor to operate, its base circuit must be forward biased...That's why you need to focus ur explaination on the base circiut....Just like Audrey's explanation above.

As for Dennis here, he purposely made mistakes in his explanation...Anybody can help him in his explanation?

KETAM PAGI (Week 1) Thursday

Salam & Good day...

Today's Ketam Pagi only 7 students involve...Congratulation to Fidelis, Shennen, Marcella, Ashley, Law Xi Yong, Syafiq & Syaheera...I really believe with ur effort u'll upgrade in next exam....For those who are in the list, u are VERY welcome to join the class :)

I taught them to derive units from formula & vice versa...Shennan can come out with easier way to derive unit for Elastic Potential Energy = 1/2 kx2 = 1/2 (k x)(x) = 1/2 Fx so the unit is kgm2s-2....(semua 2 is kuasa dua)

Given them homework:
1 question from Section A, Paper 3...Remind them to set 30 min to answer that question...

See You Next Week :)

KETAM PAGI (Week 1)

Congratulation to Amos, Baizura, Joey, Caroline & Faiz...i understand it is not easy to come for early morning lesson...Hopefully the number of students increases in next lessons...

Today, students are given list of formula in SPM. They were asked to tick the formula that they had memorized...but it is ok if they haven't memorize any....as long as next week they can tick 5 more :)

I taught them how to derive unit from formula and vice versa...
They are amazed to see that the unit for kinetic energy, gravitational potential energy & elastic potential energy are the same after they had derived them :)

Today KETAM PAGI satisfied me :)
